Our main focus at Iowa State University is to conduct research on major soybean biotic stresses like asian soybean rust, SDS, frogeye leaf spot, white mold, Rhizoctonia root rot, and charcoal rot diseases of soybean and their management. Understand infection biology of sudden death syndrome pathogen. Evaluate fungicides to control soybean foliar diseases

Research interest is to answer the questions of why, when and where new disease(s) problems occur. Analyse emergence of new disease problems in association with change in agricultural systems, farming practices and climate and its impact on pathogen growth and survival; interaction between fungi and transgenic plants and its consequences to crop production; macro-scale patterns of diseases occurrence for prediction, and management. Risk assessment of Asian soybean rust.
