Research interests
Current focus at Iowa State University starting September 2002 is to conduct research on major biotic stresses of Soybean in Iowa and manage a laboratory that plays a key role in soybean disease management. Understand infection mechanism and pathogenic variability of sudden death syndrome (SDS) pathogen (Fusarium virguliforme). Develop screening techniques to identify HPR to SDS. Evaluate Soybean for resistance to SDS, frogeye leaf spot, white mold, Rhizoctonia root rot, and charcoal rot, also evaluate fungicides in managing these diseases. Prior to joining ISU, worked on leaf rust of wheat for 2 years; and foliar and panicle diseases of pearl millet and sorghum at ICRISAT for 15 years.
